It’s only been a month and I’ve been nominated for my third award with the Blogger Recognition Award! I’d like to thank GamersUnitedGG for the nomination. Lita has only been here a week, but she’s already demonstrating why she’s got the potential to be a great blogger. Be sure to check out her thoughts on upcoming games.
Here are the award rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
6. Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.
How The Comic Vault Began
In the closing days of 2016, I decided I wanted to take more risks and do what made me happy. I was already running an animal protection blog called Wings And Wild Hearts, but I knew I wanted to make another blog. Comics have always been a passion of mine so I took the chance and started the website on the 28th December.
Within a week I was getting a lot of engagement on my posts, so I decided to stick with it. The Comic Vault name comes from my local Forbidden Planet comic shop in Manchester. Downstairs they have a massive vault full of comics so I ran with the concept and here we are.
Advice for new bloggers
Write with conviction
It doesn’t matter what you’re blogging about, whether it’s clothes or food. If you write with passion then people will pick up on it. If you believe in the words then so will they. I was aware of the millions of other comic related blogs before I started, but it didn’t stop me from writing about what I love.
Experiment and take chances
Never be afraid to switch things up or try new things on the blog. A good example for me is my Pop Culture Playlist series where I write about a comic character and give them their own playlist. I didn’t know how people would react to it at first, but it’s become more popular than I could’ve imagined. Even if an idea doesn’t work to begin with, stick with it and see where it goes.
