Since I was a kid, pop culture and fantasy have been a big part of my life and during difficult times I’ve tended to fall back on them for a sense of routine and purpose. To say 2020 has been difficult would be an understatement, but a silver lining has come from having more time to pursue things that I’d never attempted until now.

As a new skill, I’ve decided to take up photography and it’s inspired me to launch an online portfolio called Photography Fables.

How Collaboration Can Make You A Better Cosplayer And Provide A Creative Outlet

If there’s one thing I enjoy about being creative, it’s getting the chance to meet like-minded people. Collaboration is a great way to make new connections and produce something new, whether it’s a story or a piece of art. Working with someone else helps you elevate each other, which is useful when it comes to cosplaying. The cosplay world is built on collaboration, with people making costumes, selling costumes, taking pictures and having fun together. It’s why I was excited to do a new cosplay photo shoot with fellow creatives and embody my favourite comic character.

Cosplaying is a fun experience, as you’re able to dress up as a character you admire and feel like someone else for a day. The cosplaying community is huge, which is why I enjoy interviewing cosplayers from around the world to showcase their work and find out what inspires them. Instagram is a useful place for sharing photos and creating a sense of community among photographers and people who enjoy being in front of a camera. Cosplaying is very popular on Instagram, as you have the opportunity to show off your costumes and creative ability.
