In comics, characters are often thrown together and forced to coexist. It provides the chance for some fun interactions, as the characters need to settle their differences. This is exactly what happened when Jason Todd was put with Bizarro and Artemis to form Red Hood and The Outlaws. All three characters came from different backgrounds and they started off fighting each other. Over time, they learned to work together and become friends.
Red Hood benefited from a lot of character development through his interactions with Artemis and Bizarro. His relationship with Artemis is interesting because they’ve had similar experiences. Scott Lobdell and Dexter Soy continue to create an emotionally rich story for Jason Todd and in his companions in Red Hood And The Outlaws #13. In the last issue, Bizarro sacrificed himself to stop a rampaging Solomon Grundy, dying in Red Hood and Artemis’ arms. Before the Outlaws could fully take in their friend’s sacrifice, Lex Luthor appeared on the scene. What are Luthor’s intentions and does he plan to use Bizarro for his own agenda?

When a writer makes you feel for a character, it’s a magical sensation. When a writer makes you connect with a character you never thought you’d feel anything for, it’s even rarer. This has been the case with Scott Lobdell’s take on Bizarro in his latest run on Red Hood and The Outlaws. Bizarro, the imperfect clone of Superman, was a character I never took seriously. His origin and creation seemed derivative, but Lobdell’s story has changed my mind. Here’s how he’s managed it.

I’m back with another review of the Red Hood And The Outlaws series, written by Scott Lodbell. Issue 9 sees the much needed return of artist Dexter Soy. Red Hood and Bizarro have agreed to help Artemis find the Bow of Ra and the trio have travelled to the country of Qurac. The country is a war zone, full of disparate groups battling for survival. It’s also the place Jason Todd was murdered by The Joker.
